Who is the little crystal gremlin behind

Bone Babe?

Jen Bond is a Denver-based artist who uses bones, bugs, and home-grown crystals to create a glittering but dark fantasy scape .

She is deeply inspired by 80’s and 90’s dark fantasy stories from her childhood, and seeks to blend the beautiful and the morbid into a piece of art that makes it difficult to look away from.

Bleached white bone is encased in colorful, sparkling, crystalline structures. Inked images of contorted and broken skulls, haloed in gold leafing. Skulls rendered in stitches, encrusted in glittering beadwork.

Jen believes in sharing her passions and hyperfixations with anyone who will listen to her. One of her greatest joys in her art practice is vending at local events, and seeing someone’s eyes light up when they learn that growing crystals isn’t science fiction.

A person with gray hair, wearing a gold necklace, an olive green top, and a black cardigan, making a gesture with one hand. There are tattoos on the person's chest, with a wooden wall and some plants in the background.
